Safe School Environment PDF Print E-mail
With a very low student-teacher ratio, the open class design of our facility, and the structured, disciplined nature of our program, all of our children function as one big “extended-family.”  They worship together, work together, eat together and play together.

“My (kindergarten) child came home and told me about how one of the high school students, ‘big kids’ as he put it, told him, while they were all lined up to going outside to play, that his shoe was untied.  My son told the big kid that he didn’t know how to tie his shoe, so the big kid tied his shoe for him while trying to teach him how to do it. I thought it was so cool that an older student, rather than shunning the younger ones, were actually looking out for them as an older brother would. I am so thankful for the loving environment THE ROCK ACADEMY provides for my child.  The thought never comes to mind about whether my child will be bullied, picked on or made fun of." —Thankful Parent

Music, Drama, Art, P.E. PDF Print E-mail
Twice a week our students join together in song: learning how to sing as group and how to recognize and keep time with the beat.  Drama and music are blended while our students practice for our annual Christmas and Easter musical plays.  Once a week, students work on fun projects during art class, and everyday our students have P.E., playing soccer, flag football, volleyball, kickball, t-ball, tether ball and basketball.  Our younger students also get to enjoy playing on the playground equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions PDF Print E-mail
AcademyQ:    Is THE ROCK ACADEMY Accredited?

A:    Accreditation means that we pay a large fee for an independent agency of our choice to verify that we are meeting the goals and standards that we set for our school. This in turn means a higher tuition.  In addition, many agencies require schools to have at least 150 students to be accredited.  Many have the wrong idea about Accreditation. Not being accredited does NOT mean that your child will not be accepted into a public school.  Additionally, it is NOT required for your child to attend an accredited school to receive credits and attend college.  In fact, there are some public schools that are not accredited.

Q:    Does the DVD Program mean my child will watch TV all day?

A:    No.  The DVD program is designed to work in concert with the on-site teacher.  The average time of DVD instruction is 3 hours/day presented in short 15-30 minute intervals depending on the grade level.  During this time your child is learning from Master Teachers (some of the best teachers in their field).  The remainder of the time is traditional one-on-one time with the their teacher and classroom interaction.  The DVD program uses modern technology toprovide a wonderful interactive learning experience for the students.

Q:    Are the teachers certified?

A:    All of our classes are taught by certified Master Teachers.  Our on-site teachers are hired with prayerful consideration based on Christian Character, experience working with children in a classroom and their commitment to Christian Education.

Q:    Do you give the FCAT?

A:    No. Our students take the SAT (Stanford Achievement Test). The SAT is nationally recognized and gives a comparison of how our students are performing on a national basis.
